John Simpkins attended Harvard University from 1989 to 1993, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree (A.B.) in Government. Subsequently, from 1996 to 1999, they attended Duke University School of Law, earning both a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International and Comparative Law.
