Tara’s broad practice includes administrative law, commercial litigation and insurance, and risk management. She has represented corporations and individuals from various industries in diverse matters including negligence and breach of contract litigation and arbitrations under the Alberta New Home Warranty Program.

Tara frequently represents public sector clients in administrative tribunals. Her success in this arena derives from her knowledge of both the substantive issue in question and the procedural requirements of the agency holding the hearing.

In her commercial litigation practice, Tara represents plaintiffs, defendants, and insurers of professional liability/errors and omissions actions involving financial brokers and agents, insurance brokers and agents, and a variety of other professionals. She also represents corporations and individuals in a variety of large loss litigation across various sectors.

Tara’s insurance practice includes representing clients in the areas of CGL risk insurance, directors’ and officers’ liability, fiduciary liability, professional negligence, product liability, property damage claims, and large fire loss. She also represents national insurers and corporations in the capacity of claims and coverage counsel about a variety of commercial general liability issues.

Poised and persuasive in the courtroom, Tara has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta. Additionally, she has participated in numerous mediations.

She sets objectives and expectations upfront, delivers detailed reporting letters to ensure the strategy is being followed and is exceptionally responsive to the questions and concerns raised by her clients. Tara frequently shares her considerable knowledge by presenting seminars on a variety of topics regarding insurance law, settlement techniques, and alternative dispute resolution. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association Civil Litigation and Insurance sub-sections.
