With a focus on specialty lines of insurance, Alexis Moulton makes sure she understands the technical details of a client’s business, as well as the nuances of a situation, to find the smartest, most efficient solutions. Whether the matter in front of her is a fatality inquiry, medical malpractice issue, or commercial litigation file, Alexis works hard to understand the issues, the client’s goals and works hard to achieve the best outcome.
Bringing drive and energy to her role as partner and co-chair of the Insurance & Risk Management Practice Group, Alexis practices in the areas of insurance, general litigation, and medical-legal issues. She is a strong communicator with responsiveness and efficiency being her top priorities and values building solid business relationships with adjusters, business owners, executives, and managers.
Alexis is a skilled negotiator and has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta and the Northwest Territories, representing her clients in various commercial and insurance disputes, including contractual, negligence, insurance coverage, occupier’s liability, and product liability issues. She also has extensive experience with judicial dispute resolution and arbitration and is listed on the Canadian Defence Lawyers/Canadian Insurance Claims Managers Association arbitration roster.
Alexis takes the time and makes the effort to stay current with insurance-related issues and is very active in insurance litigation issues. Insurance questions continue to emerge in new areas as the scope of what is considered "insurance" or "insurance-related" continues to grow. She stays on top of any new or evolving areas of insurance defense, such as human rights, cannabis, class actions, and construction insurance litigation.
In addition to her role as co-chair of the Insurance & Risk Management Practice Group, Alexis is also a member of the Commercial Litigation and Health Law Practice Groups, is Chair of the McLennan Ross Student Hiring Committee for Calgary and is an active and involved mentor to many of the Firm’s associates and students.
