Jim Hodges has a diverse work experience starting in 1982 when they worked as an Attorney in Lancaster County, SC. In 1987, they became a State Representative for District 45 in the SC House of Representatives. From 1990 to 1998, they worked as the General Counsel and Secretary for The Springs Company. In 1999, they became the Governor of South Carolina until 2003. After their gubernatorial term, they served as the Executive Director for the National Alliance of Life Companies representing insurance companies. In 2009, they joined McGuireWoods LLP as a Partner and also became the President and CEO of McGuireWoods Consulting, where they provide strategic and policy advice to clients dealing with issues within the nation's governors and state level Cabinet agencies.
Jim Hodges completed their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Economics in 1979 at the University of South Carolina. Jim then went on to earn a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1982.
