Alvaro Dopico is currently the Chief Executive Partner at M&C Saatchi in Mexico City. Prior to this, they served as Vice President of Account Services at Marcel Worldwide and J. Walter Thompson Worldwide. In these roles, they were responsible for managing, servicing, and profitability of an assigned department while leading and planning the client's short and long-term marketing strategies. Alvaro also maintained contact with all levels of management within the assigned clients and assumed overall management and supervision responsibilities for the account team's personnel.
Dopico has over 20 years of experience in the marketing and advertising industry. Alvaro began their career working in various roles at Grey Advertising before moving on to J. Walter Thompson Worldwide, where they eventually rose to the position of Vice President of Account Services. In 2014, they left J. Walter Thompson to join Marcel Worldwide in a similar role. After two years at Marcel Worldwide, Dopico was recruited by M&C Saatchi to serve as their Chief Executive Partner in Mexico City.
In their current role, Dopico is responsible for overseeing all aspects of M&C Saatchi's business in Mexico City, including operations, finance, strategy, and business development. Under their leadership, M&C Saatchi has become one of the leading advertising agencies in Mexico, winning numerous awards and accolades.
Dopico is a highly respected figure in the advertising industry, and they are frequently invited to speak at conferences and events around the world. Alvaro is a passionate advocate for creativity and innovation in advertising, and they believe that advertising should be used to make a positive impact on society.
After completing high school, Alvaro Dopico pursued a Licenciatura en Comunicación Publicitaria at Universidad ORT Uruguay. Alvaro then went on to complete a Master Class in Business Transformation at Hyper Island. Afterwards, they completed a Diplomado en Marketing Interactivo at Tecnológico de Monterrey. Afterwards, they pursued a Máster en Marketing Online y Comercio Electrónico with a focus in Digital at OBS Business School. Currently, they are enrolled in a Maestro program at WPP with a focus in Trusted Advisers. Additionally, they have completed a Workshop on Negotiation at Harvard University.
Alvaro Dopico reports to Moray MacLennan, Worldwide CEO. They are on a team with Spencer Wong - Chief Executive Partner, Hong Kong, Gilles Masson - Chief Executive Partner, Paris, and Vicente Hernandez - Chief Executive Partner, Madrid.
