Carl Smith is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in programme and project management, currently serving as SVP - Programme Manager at MBNA since September 2008. Smith has overseen large-scale change initiatives, including bankwide product launches and regulatory projects, managing project plans, budgets, and deliverables. Prior to MBNA, Smith held the position of Head of Projects at Bank of America, leading a team on a diverse portfolio of initiatives. Earlier career highlights include a role as Senior Projects Manager and Development Manager at MBNA Europe Bank Limited, where responsibilities included IT project delivery and development of Oracle-based applications, as well as an Information Technology Consultant position at Andersen Consulting. Smith holds a 1st Class Honours degree in Theoretical Physics from Newcastle University.
