Asif Muhammad Iqbal has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and analytics. Asif Muhammad started their career as a Trainee Officer in Marketing Research & Development at Grameenphone Ltd in 2004, where they designed, analyzed, and reported on various market research studies. Asif Muhammad then moved on to roles such as Officer in Marketing Research & Development and Deputy Manager in Research & Analysis, where they were responsible for estimating and reporting revenue market share and developing strategic segmentation models.
In 2013, Asif joined Telenor as a Data Scientist, focusing on fostering research collaboration between Telenor Group and Grameenphone. Asif Muhammad played a crucial role in developing deep insights and strategic recommendations for Telenor's Business Units and Group Top Management.
Asif later joined DiGi Telecommunications in 2015 as a Principal Data Scientist, where they developed robust machine-learning models to address subscriber churn problems and built behavioral segmentation models to fine-tune marketing strategies.
In 2017, Asif transitioned to Telenor as a Data Scientist, where they played a pivotal role in implementing data-driven personalized digital marketing across Telenor Business Units. Asif Muhammad advised and developed a state-of-the-art Machine Learning-based Contextual Marketing program.
In 2018, Asif joined Digi Telecommunications as the Head of Data Science and later became the Head of Advanced Analytics. Asif Muhammad continued to lead and oversee data science and advanced analytics initiatives.
Currently, Asif is working at Maxis as the Head of Data & AI CoE, where they are responsible for leading the data and AI Center of Excellence.
Throughout their career, Asif has demonstrated expertise in data science, machine learning, and analytics, contributing to impactful marketing campaigns, customer engagement, and revenue generation.
Asif Muhammad Iqbal has a diverse education history in the field of business and data science. Asif Muhammad obtained a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree in Business from Multimedia University between 2021 and 2025. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Marketing from Southeast University in 2011. Asif Muhammad also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Marketing from the University of Dhaka, which they earned between 2001 and 2005.
