Danielle Houwing is a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics since November 2022, focusing on the underlying mechanisms of left-right asymmetry in the developing and adult mouse brain. Previously, Danielle worked at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour from June 2020 to August 2022, evaluating therapeutic potential of a new drug treatment in a toxin-induced Parkinson's Disease animal model. As a PhD student at the University of Groningen from April 2015 to August 2019, Danielle investigated the impacts of antidepressant treatment during pregnancy on offspring development. Danielle's academic background includes a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Behavioural Ecology from Utrecht University, along with various research roles, including visiting PhD student at UiT The Arctic University of Norway and research internships at UMC Utrecht and Delta Phenomics.
