Peter Waiyaki has held several roles in the telecommunications industry since 2014. Peter began as a Telecommunications Engineer at Kenya Power, where they were responsible for installation of mobile VHF radios, repair and maintenance of telephone networks, installation, configuration and maintenance of PABX, installation and configuration of switches and routers, maintenance and troubleshooting of fiber infrastructure, and maintenance of RF repeater stations. In 2016, they moved to IwayAfrica Limited, where they were a Network Support Engineer, setting up and configuring internet service and mail (POP/SMTP) on Iburst technology on Windows 7, vista, XP, Apple Mac computers, I phone, Blackberry, NOKIA and Samsung phones. In 2017, they joined Instarect Limited as a Telecommunication Engineer, carrying out feasibility exercises and determining connectivity, as well as preparing detailed, technical and operational documentation and verifying service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms. Peter is currently a Technical Project Manager at Mawingu Networks, where they develop and manages technical project plans for new expansion areas, supports the implementation of the core network infrastructure and customer installations, and liaises with, commissions, and manages service providers and/or suppliers.
Peter Waiyaki attended Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology from 2011 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication and Information Engineering. Prior to this, they attended Lenana School from 2007 to 2010, where they obtained a K.C.S.E. Peter also holds a Cisco Certified Network certification from Cisco.
