Robert Nugteren has a diverse work experience in the oil and gas industry. Robert started their career as a Roughneck, derrickman, and assistant driller at Deutag Drilling GmbH, where they gained experience in safe drilling operations. After that, they worked as a Directional Driller at Schlumberger, drilling horizontal and extended reach wells and supervising other field engineers. Robert then joined Eni as a Drilling Supervisor, where they supervised drilling and completion operations for gas wells offshore. At Norsk Hydro, they worked as a Senior Drilling Engineer, providing offshore drilling engineering support and monitoring the progress of operations. Robert then joined Statoil as a Drilling/Well Supervisor, working on well planning and preparing operational procedures. Later, they worked at BP as a Well Site Leader, where they brought in the first semi-submersible rig into Trinidad and improved safety and efficiency. Robert then went on to work at Statoil as a Drilling Supervisor, before joining Wintershall Dea in the same role. Currently, they are working as a Drilling Supervisor at Equinor.
Robert Nugteren obtained their Associate's Degree in Petroleum and Gas Technology from t' Noorderhooft College Den Helder from 1992 to 1994. Robert then went on to Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, where they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Oil and Gas Technology from 1994 to 1999. Later, Robert pursued a Master's Degree in PGDIP/MSc Offshore Engineering from Robert Gordon University, which they completed in the academic year 1999-2000.
