Shimon Shrem

Head of Engineering at Maverick Medical AI

Shimon Shrem has a diverse range of work experience, spanning over multiple industries and roles. Shimon is currently the Head of Engineering at Maverick Medical AI, where they lead the engineering team. Prior to this, they served as the Research Engineering Lead at the same company.

Before joining Maverick Medical AI, Shimon worked at Microsoft as a Senior Software Engineer from 2020 to 2022. At Microsoft, they contributed to software development projects.

From 2017 to 2020, Shimon was employed at F5 Networks as a Tech Lead & Principal Software Engineer. In this role, they played a key part in designing and developing a large-scale cyber security software as a service (SaaS) for bot detection and web application firewall (WAF) in the cloud. Shimon also led the team in architectural aspects, algorithms, and provided coaching and support to newcomers.

Shimon was the Founder & CEO of DisignStudio between 2015 and 2018, where they led a small startup and managed customer and investor relations. Their responsibilities also included creating architectural visualizations for apartments based on blueprints.

In their earlier career, Shimon served as an Algorithms Engineer at Outbrain from 2012 to 2016, focusing on developing algorithms and software for recommendation systems. Shimon conducted research on big data to gain insights into user interests and personalized content recommendations.

Prior to that, Shimon held the position of Senior Search Engine and Algorithm Developer at AnyClip from 2010 to 2012. Shimon designed and implemented a new architecture for the AnyClip API to improve performance and scalability.

From 2007 to 2009, Shimon worked as an Algorithm Developer at Panaya, where they developed solutions for static program analysis and implemented a tool for debugging slices in graphs. Shimon also gained experience in server-side development using J2EE, JBoss, and MySQL.

At Celebros, Shimon served as a Senior Algorithm Developer from 2005 to 2007. Their responsibilities included designing and implementing algorithms for search engine optimization (SEO) and natural language processing (NLP).

At the beginning of their career, Shimon worked as a Research Assistant at The Caesarea Institute for Interdisciplinary Applications of Computer Science (C.R.I.) from 2002 to 2005. Shimon implemented complex graph theory algorithms and developed a compiler and debugger for a programming language. Shimon also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Haifa in 2002.

Overall, Shimon Shrem has demonstrated a strong expertise in software engineering, algorithm development, system architecture, and team leadership throughout their career.

Shimon Shrem completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at the University of Haifa from 1997 to 2000. Shimon further pursued their education and obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the same university from 2002 to 2005.
