F. Ralph Dowdy, CPA is a partner at Mauldin & Jenkins and a Certified Public Accountant. Before joining M&J, he was a managing associate and shareholder of MDG Professional Group, P.C., and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors. Ralph’s primary area of specialization is corporate and estate taxation, and he serves as a trusted tax adviser for numerous corporations, partnerships and individuals in Huntsville, Alabama and surrounding areas. Ralph is a charter trustee of the American Institute of Federal Taxation and has served on numerous committees of the Alabama Society of CPAs (ASCPA). He is also a frequent speaker on tax-related topics. Before joining MDG, Ralph was tax manager of the Huntsville office of Ernst & Young, followed by 40 years with MDA Professional Group, P.C.. A leading member of the accounting profession statewide, Ralph is a past president of the ASCPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He also represented the state society as a member of the council of the AICPA and served on the Area II Planning Sub-committee of the Institute’s State Legislation Committee. He is past president of the Huntsville-Decatur Chapter of CPAs. Ralph is a graduate of Auburn University. He and his wife Ann have two sons and are members of the First United Methodist Church of Guntersville, Alabama.
