Neil Johnson is an experienced engineering leader currently serving as VP of Engineering Management at Element and a core team member at Matrix.org since January 2018. Prior roles include Head of Engineering at Lyst, where a global fashion search platform was developed, and VP of Engineering at Lumi, a personalized newsreader created by the founders of Last.fm. Previous positions include Director of Engineering at OpenMarket, where solutions for SMS and mobile payments were delivered, and development management roles at MX Telecom. Early career experience includes operations engineering at Hawkeye Innovations and summer placements at TTPCom and Central Research Laboratories. Neil Johnson holds a Master’s degree in Electrical and Information Science from the University of Cambridge, earned between 1999 and 2003.
