Sherif Soliman

Chief Executive Officer at Matregenix

Highly passionate, and quality-driven, Dr. Sherif Soliman is a leading Material Scientist and founder of Matregenix. For over 15 years, Sherif has built on his extensive experience in biomaterials and nanofibers research and has planned, designed, and executed numerous nanofibrous polymeric structures for medical applications. His historical achievements in the creation of tissue scaffolds, as well as his expertise in medical device manufacturing, have earned him a reputation as a trusted partner to thought leaders and industry experts throughout the globe. One of his most rewarding achievements took place when a tissue-engineered scaffold he designed and developed became the first synthetic whole organ in medical history to be implanted into a patient.

Sherif holds a Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, though much of his research was conducted as a visiting research fellow at Harvard Medical School. Following that, Sherif completed postdoctoral fellowships, the first one at MIT, and the second was an eminent T32 fellowship from NIH at Princeton University. Sherif also graduated from the Executive MBA program at Questrom School of Business and earned a BS in Biomedical Engineering. He holds several patents and has authored many peer-reviewed research papers in top-tier journals. Recently, Sherif volunteered to author a new ASTM guideline for the characterization of fiber-based scaffolds for tissue engineering medical products.
