Master Science Teacher Fellowship at Math for America

Gilana Reiss is a highly experienced and dedicated educator currently serving as a Chemistry and Science Research Teacher at Briarcliff High School since September 2021. With a background as a Tenured Chemistry Teacher and Research Coordinator at Hunter College High School from 2007 to 2021, Gilana has designed engaging inquiry-based learning experiences and developed significant educational resources, including laboratory manuals and an Organic Chemistry elective. As part of the Math for America Master Science Teacher Fellowship and the NY State Master Teacher Fellowship, Gilana has been recognized as one of the top STEM teachers in New York and has actively facilitated numerous professional development sessions.
