Tekara Gainey

Program Manager at Maternity Care Coalition

Tekara Gainey is a skilled professional with extensive experience in maternal and community health. Currently serving as a Childbirth Educator for Lifecycle WomanCare since August 2021, Tekara develops and evaluates evidence-based curricula for over 400 families. Additionally, as Program Manager at Maternity Care Coalition since September 2019, oversight of daily programmatic operations and administration is a key responsibility. Tekara founded Black Moon Doula Services in March 2018, providing holistic education and support to expecting parents in various settings. Previous roles include Manager of Community Affairs & Engagement at the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation, SAT Instructor at The Princeton Review, and internships focused on community health and research. Tekara holds a Bachelor of Science in Registered Nursing from Drexel University, a Master's degree in Medical Anthropology from San Diego State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Temple University.
