Philip Pienkos is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Matereal, and as an Emeritus Scientist as well as a Strategic Project Lead and Principal Group Manager at National Renewable Energy Laboratory. He also holds the position of Director at Algae Foundation and Grandpa at My Family. Previously, he has held various research and leadership roles at companies such as Polaris Renewables, Molecular Logix, American Cyanamid, and Enchira Biotechnology. With a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BS in Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Philip brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the field of biofuel development and renewable energy.
