Rashida Richardson serves as Attorney Advisor to Chair Lina Khan at the Federal Trade Commission since February 2022 and holds the position of Assistant Professor of Law and Political Science at Northeastern University School of Law since July 2021. Previous roles include Senior Policy Advisor for Data and Democracy at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and Visiting Scholar at Rutgers School of Law, specializing in the intersection of race, emerging technologies, and law. As Director of Policy Research at the AI Now Institute, Rashida Richardson developed initiatives on technology policy, civil rights, and privacy. Additional experience includes adjunct professorships at New York University and Fordham University Schools of Law, legislative counsel at the New York Civil Liberties Union, staff attorney at The Center for HIV Law and Policy, and a legal and compliance analyst at HIP Investor. Rashida Richardson holds a JD in Intellectual Property Law and Civil Rights from Northeastern University School of Law and a BA with Honors from Wesleyan University.
