Mario M. S. Martins currently serves as the Deputy Chief Underwriter at USAA since August 2021, where responsibilities include leading Underwriting production teams with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency, alongside spearheading Underwriting Innovation teams for advancements in electronic health records and predictive modeling. Prior to this role, Mario held the position of Corporate Vice President of Underwriting Operations at New York Life Insurance Company from August 2015 to July 2021 and served as Vice President and Underwriting Manager at Swiss Re from January 2007 to August 2015. Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Southern Connecticut State University and a Master's degree in Political Science/Public Policy from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
