Finance Lead (renewable Energy) - Statutory Accounting & Reporting at Masdar

Gibran Ali Hussain has a diverse range of work experience in the finance and risk management sectors. Gibran Ali started their career at KPMG as a Risk & Management Consultant from December 2009 to December 2011. Gibran Ali then worked at House of Habib, where they held various roles, including Senior Officer Group Internal Audit, Assistant Manager Group Internal Audit, and Assistant Manager Corporate Analyst. At House of Habib, they conducted internal audits and tracked the implementation of recommendations. Afterward, Gibran joined ARDENT Advisory & Accounting LLC as a Risk Consultant for a year. Currently, they work at Masdar, where they are the Finance Lead (Renewable Energy) - Statutory Accounting & Reporting. In this role, they are responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, and overall finance operations of 11 companies and their associated projects spread over MENA and Europe. Gibran Ali is the focal point for all finance-related matters for Masdar's Renewable Energy Unit and handles tasks such as GL closing, project analysis, and inter-company accounting.

Gibran Ali Hussain completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Energy and Sustainability from UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia from 2021 to 2023. Gibran Ali also obtained the ACCA Member certification in Accounting, Business Analysis, and Financial Management from ACCA between 2007 and 2010. In 2013, they received the CertITM from the Association of Corporate Treasurers, specializing in Treasury, Liquidity Management, and Financial Management. Gibran completed their A Levels in Accounts, Economics, and Maths at Southshore School from 2005 to 2007. Gibran Ali is also a Fellow of ACCA, obtaining the accounting certification. Additionally, Gibran has obtained several additional certifications, including Leading with Finance from Harvard Business School Online, a Postgraduate Extended Diploma in Energy and Sustainability from Cambridge International Qualifications, Exploring Renewable Energy Schemes from Coursera, the Certified Manager Programme from the Chartered Management Institute, and the Certificate in International Treasury Management from the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
