Mussie Tewolde, GISP, is an experienced GIS Specialist currently working at the Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission since June 2016, focusing on the design and development of interactive web mapping applications and the analysis and visualization of complex data using Power BI and Tableau. Prior to this role, Mussie spent four years at the State of Maryland, Department of Juvenile Services, conducting geographic analysis and presenting reports for planning and program evaluation. Mussie's academic background includes a Master's Degree in Geospatial Technologies from both the Institute for Geoinformatics at the University of Munster and ISEG, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, complemented by a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Asmara. Early career positions include roles as a Research Assistant, Course Instructor, and Head of Academic Registrar at Hamelmalo Agricultural College, as well as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Asmara, where responsibilities included tutoring and lab assistance in GIS and Remote Sensing.
