Phyllita Bolden

Director Community Health at Bon Secours

Phyllita Bolden has a diverse work experience in community health and outreach. Phyllita currently holds the role of Director of Community Health at Bon Secours since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at UnitedHealthcare Community & State as a Senior Community Outreach Specialist from 2021 to 2022, and at UnitedHealth Group as a Community Outreach Specialist from 2017 to 2021.

Phyllita also has experience in wellness and client account advising, having worked at Independence Blue Cross from 2011 to 2016, where they developed and implemented health and wellness programs at the worksite. Before that, they worked at Aetna Better Health Inc as a Community Outreach Specialist from 2010 to 2011, coordinating health fairs and educational seminars.

In addition, Phyllita has a background in public health research and advocacy. Phyllita worked at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation as part of the Vulnerable Populations Team from 2007 to 2008, providing recommendations and evaluating grant proposals for youth health initiatives. Phyllita also worked at Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health from 2004 to 2007 as a Program Coordinator, where they recruited families for a program aimed at improving nutrition and development in low-income children.

Earlier in their career, Phyllita gained experience in the music industry as the Southeast Market Manager for Def Jam Recordings from 1995 to 2004, where they cultivated relationships with media and retail executives to promote national artists. Overall, Phyllita's work experience demonstrates a strong background in community health, wellness programs, and public health advocacy.

Phyllita Bolden holds a Master of Public Health degree from Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health. Phyllita also earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Morgan State University. In addition to their academic qualifications, they obtained a certification in Life, Health, and Annuities from the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2018.
