Chris Botting has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Chris is currently working as the Chief Materials Engineer at Marshall, a position they began in April 2022. Prior to this, they spent several years at Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group, where they held various roles including Materials and Environmental Engineering Manager, Materials and Additive Manufacturing Engineer, and Materials and Process Engineer. In these positions, they supported and reviewed compliance methods, developed processes for future practice, and worked on utilizing new materials and processes to meet environmental and health legislation while reducing project costs and lead time. Before joining Marshall, Chris worked at Lotus Cars, where they held roles such as Senior Materials Engineer - Joining Technologies, Senior Design Engineer - HVAC and Cooling Systems, and Process Engineer Body and Paint. Chris initially joined Lotus through their Graduate Scheme.
Chris Botting CEng FIMMM AWeldI fCMgr attended Helena Romanes School Great Dunmow from 1991 to 1998, where they completed their A levels with a focus on Biology. They then went on to the University of Birmingham, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Materials Science from 1998 to 2001. Following that, they pursued further education at the University of Birmingham from 2001 to 2002 and obtained a degree in The Science and Engineering of Materials, specializing in Materials Engineering.
