Co-Founder + CEO at Marmoset

Co-Founder and CEO of Marmoset, Ryan co-pilots the company's creative teams and enjoys studying people and human systems -- constantly deconstructing the status quo, pushing the boundaries, and searching for a better way to do work.

A fiery advocate of creators, makers and artists, Ryan gave a TED Talk about "leading creatives amidst a modern landscape" and has traveled far sharing his experiences on topics of leadership, equity and inclusion, and strategy at places like SXSW, CMJ Music Festival, TechFestNW, MusicFestNW, Shades of Green, NextCon, The University of Montana, Lewis & Clark College, Southern Oregon University.

An Oregon native, Ryan first realized his passion for music as a College Radio DJ at his alma mater, Southern Oregon University in Ashland. Since then, he's worked in a variety of roles in the creative industry and music industry, consulting with brands, record labels, bands, and award-winning filmmakers.

A member of AICP, AMP, The Guild of Music Supervisors, and a former Governor on the board of the PNW Chapter of The Recording Academy (The Grammys), Ryan holds Global and Chapter level leadership roles for EO -- the Entrepreneurs Organization, and has completed continuing education coursework at Harvard Business School, MIT and The Wharton School of Business. A proud alum, Ryan serves on the Southern Oregon University Foundation Board of Trustees, where he was given the Young Alumni of the Year Award in 2017.

Under Ryan's leadership, Marmoset is honored to be a certified B Corp and has won a Webby Award, a SXSW Interactive Award, ranked #317 on the INC 500 List, ranked #6 in "The Fastest Growing Private Companies in Oregon," "The 100 Greenest Companies in Oregon," and won numerous Best Places to Work awards. Ryan was awarded the "40 Under 40" honor by The Portland Business Journal and in 2018 he was a finalist for Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Ryan maintains a journal at Nurture Theory where he shares his most impactful ideas and experiences on leading creatives and achieving high performance among teams of people.
