John Yeates has extensive work experience in the field of chaplaincy and education. John started their career in 1997 as the Minister of Education at FBC, where they remained until 2006. In 2006, John joined Marketplace Chaplains as the Executive Director of Operations for SE TX-LA.

John Yeates earned a Doctorate in Leadership from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, which they attended from 2003 to 2006. John also holds a Master's degree in Education from the same institution. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Wayland Baptist University. In addition to their academic achievements, John has various certifications and awards from the US Army and the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. John is also a Certified Church Business Administration from NACBA and a Church Growth Consultant from Church Growth Consultants.
