Martyn Rankin

Senior Analyst - Operations Change Management at MarketAxess

Martyn Rankin has a diverse work experience in the financial industry. Martyn started their career at NatWest Stockbrokers as a Crest Settlements Clerk, where they worked from 1998 to 2003. Martyn then moved to Northern Trust and served as a UK Crest Settlements Senior Advisor from 2004 to 2008. During this time, they also worked as a Business Analyst. Martyn joined BNY Mellon as a Client Money Reconciliations specialist for a brief period in 2009 before transitioning to Penson Financial Services. At Penson, they held the position of Senior Equity/Securities Lending Settlements Supervisor from 2009 to 2012.

In 2012, Martyn joined Société Générale, where they worked in various roles. Martyn started as an Equities & Fixed Income Settlements Analyst from 2012 to 2014. Later, they became a Settlements Supervisor/BA and made significant contributions to enhancing and overhauling the system and process for the Repo PB business. Martyn was also involved in settlement projects that improved STP rates, reduced transaction costs, and streamlined productivity. Additionally, Martyn automated CASS reporting for pending DVP trades, resulting in significant time savings.

Since 2017, Martyn has been working at MarketAxess, first as a Manager for Fixed Income Trade Support & Settlements for Europe & Asia. In this role, they managed a team of onshore and offshore staff and made various improvements to enhance trade support functions, establish better relationships with trading desk and customer service teams, and improve settlement efficiency. Martyn also played a lead role in several important projects, such as the roll-out to new local Emerging Markets and the global change of the company's settlement agent. Additionally, they brought in automation solutions to enhance team efficiency and settlement performance. In November 2020, Martyn transitioned to the role of Senior Analyst in Operations Change Management at MarketAxess.
