Hollis Brookover started working at Mariposa Labs in 2003, where they served as the Owner/Director of Research & Development. Hollis then joined Morningside LLC in 2004 and held the position of President until 2012. In 2014, they joined Idaho Business for Education as the Vice President, a role they held until 2017.

Hollis Brookover completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Smith College, which they attended from 1978 to 1982.
