John Glendinning is an experienced executive in the golf industry, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Marine Drive Golf Club since November 2023. Previously, John held the position of Chief Executive at The Wisley Golf Club Plc from January 2016 to November 2023, and was a Board Member for the Club Managers Association Europe Midlands and North Region from April 2014 to January 2016. John managed operations as Managing Director at Close House Golf from 2004 until December 2015, overseeing over 100 staff and ensuring high service levels across various facilities. Earlier experience includes serving as Golf Services Manager at De Vere Slaley Hall from June 2000 to September 2004, with a focus on event coordination for European Tour Senior golf events. John Glendinning earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from St Andrews University between 1996 and 2000, and completed secondary education at Queen Elizabeth High School from 1991 to 1996.
