Matthew Schweich has extensive experience in campaign management and policy roles. Starting in 2011, they worked as a Policy Aide in the Office of Rhode Island General Treasurer Gina Raimondo and as a Research Analyst at HR&A Advisors, Inc. In 2013, they served as Deputy Campaign Manager for Ken Block for Governor and Coalition Leader for the Yes on Question 3 for a Rhode Island Constitutional Convention campaign. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as an Independent Contractor for rVotes, specializing in field and technology consulting. Schweich then transitioned to the marijuana policy sector, where they held various positions at the Marijuana Policy Project, including Director of State Campaigns, Interim Executive Director, and Deputy Director.
