Luke Gutzwiller is a Principal Machine Learning Engineer at MariaDB Corporation since November 2021, with previous experience as a Senior Software Engineer at Uber from June 2019 to February 2021, where contributions included collaboration with computer vision researchers for self-driving car technology. Prior to Uber, Gutzwiller served as a Senior Data Scientist at Mighty AI, focusing on data annotation and machine learning projects, and worked as a Data Scientist at SIGNALSENSE, Inc. and Venuelabs, applying statistical analysis and machine learning. Gutzwiller’s academic experience includes serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Northwestern University and as a Predoctoral Teaching Assistant at the University of Washington while earning a PhD in Mathematics. Gutzwiller holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics/Mathematics from the University of Iowa.
