Anton Þórólfsson has extensive experience in the fields of automation, extended reality, and simulations. Currently serving as the Automation Center & Simulations Manager at Marel since June 2019, Anton oversees teams focused on Extended Reality, 3D real-time simulations, computer vision, AI, and robotics. Previous roles at Marel included XR & Simulations Technology Manager and Senior XR Developer, where Anton developed production simulations for various virtual and augmented reality headsets. As a co-founder of MURE VR, Anton played significant roles as Lead Engineer and CEO. Additional experience includes positions in risk management at Arion Bank, teaching roles at Reykjavik University and the University of Iceland, and research analysis at Vegsyn Consult. Anton holds a Master of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and multiple degrees in physics from Háskóli Íslands and Københavns Universitet.
