Elliott Starin is an experienced CTO and systems engineer with a background in communication monitoring systems, network monitoring and visibility products, and digital signal processing. Elliott has founded and led companies such as MantisNet and Mimetrix Technologies, where they developed solutions for signal access and processing in high-speed network environments and evaluated the vulnerability and exploitation potential of next-generation telecommunication networks. Prior to their entrepreneurial ventures, they worked as a senior systems engineer at AT&T and conducted research and development in natural language processing and continuous speech recognition at the National Security Agency. Starin served as a package car loader/supervisor at UPS and served in the United States Marine Corps.

Elliott Starin attended Miami Beach Senior High School from 1977 to 1979 but did not obtain a degree or study a specific field. Later in life, from 1986 to 1989, they attended the University of California, Berkeley and earned a B.A. degree specializing in Linguistics, with a focus on Computer Speech and Language Processing.
