Jan Alexander is a skilled Software Engineer at Mantis Photonics BV since July 2023, focusing on the analysis of hyperspectral retinal images to assist ophthalmologists. As the CTO and Co-Founder of Mantis Photonics AB since December 2021, Jan leads the development of an AI-powered retinal scanning platform aimed at providing clinical insights for age-related degenerative diseases. Prior experience includes consultancy roles at Verhaert Masters in Innovation, where Jan specialized in AI and systems engineering across various projects in the fields of photoplethysmography, air quality, and beverage dispensing technology. Jan has held engineering positions at Bekaert and Sonaca, contributing to environmentally friendly and energy-efficient processes. Educationally, Jan holds a Master’s degree in Statistical Data Analysis and a Master of Engineering Science in Electromechanical Engineering from Ghent University.
