Benjamin Kim is a seasoned venture capital professional with extensive experience in biotechnology and biomedical engineering. Currently a Partner at Playground Global, Benjamin has held multiple titles including Venture Principal, Senior Venture Associate, and Venture Associate since January 2020. In addition to ongoing investments and roles at various emerging companies such as Insamo, Amber Bio, Atomic AI, Infinimmune, Outpace Bio, Manifold Bio, and Lassogen, Benjamin has a strong academic foundation with a PhD and MS in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Stanford University. Previous experience includes serving as the Innovation Team Leader at Merck KGaA, where Benjamin proposed a new intelligent material concept for the smart materials market, and undertaking doctoral research at Stanford, which is documented on Google Scholar.
