Simon Thwaite has a diverse work experience in both academia and the financial industry. Simon started their career as a Physics Tutor at St Hilda's College from October 2010 to June 2012. Simon then worked as a PhD Student at the University of Oxford from October 2007 to October 2012. In 2012, they interned as a Quantitative Strategist at Knight Capital Europe Ltd. Following that, they served as a Research Fellow at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München from January 2013 to December 2014. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Alternative Markets & Principal Quant at Man AHL since May 2015.
Simon Thwaite completed their Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Physics and Chemistry from The University of Waikato in 2004. Simon then pursued a Master of Science degree in Physics from The University of Auckland, which they completed in 2007. Following this, Simon joined Balliol College, University of Oxford to pursue their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Atomic & Laser Physics, which they successfully achieved in 2012.
