John Welch is a seasoned entrepreneur and executive with extensive experience in the gaming and technology sectors. As the Founder and CEO of Making Fun, Inc. since March 2009, John has guided the company through various phases, including its acquisition by News Corporation in 2010 and a management buyout in 2013. John's leadership extended to roles as Chairman of the Board and Chief Digital Officer at Amyris from December 2019 to November 2021, where efforts focused on digital product development and community engagement. Prior to these positions, John held influential roles at companies such as PlayFirst, AtomShockwave Corp., and SegaSoft Networks, driving innovation within casual gaming and direct-to-consumer distribution. John holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
