Alwar Pillai has a diverse range of work experience in the field of user experience (UX) design and accessibility. Alwar started their career as a Design Intern at Webenza, where they worked on various marketing campaigns and created graphics for social media and posters. Alwar then moved on to NotchUX, where they served as a UX Intern and played a significant role in designing a blogging platform from concept to development. Following this, they worked as a UX Designer at "ITERNIA" Branding and Communication Design, focusing on user experience for digital products. Alwar also worked as an Accessibility Expert at the Ontario Ministry of Education, where they provided expertise in ensuring accessibility in educational materials. Alwar then joined Rogers Communications as a UX Designer and later became the Accessibility and UX Manager, responsible for accessibility and user experience strategies. Alwar'smost recent position was as the CEO of Fable, a company that engages people with disabilities in the digital development process to improve customer experiences. In addition to their professional experience, Alwar has also worked as a freelance UX Designer, facilitating client product visions and providing brand guidelines and project documentation.
Alwar Pillai pursued a Masters of Design in Inclusive Design from OCAD University from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Design with a specialization in User Experience Design/UX Design from Symbiosis Institute of Design between 2010 and 2014.
