Rune Christian Kjøsnes is an experienced materials technology professional currently serving as Overingerniør Materialteknologi og Inspeksjon at MainTech AS since October 2019. Prior to this role, Kjøsnes worked at NTNU from August 2016 to September 2019 as Fagreferent, responsible for the procurement and maintenance of literature in engineering fields, and serving as a liaison between the library and research communities. Kjøsnes has extensive experience from Aibel (November 2010 - August 2016) as Senioringeniør Material, where responsibilities included leading evaluations of mechanical equipment concepts with a focus on material quality and corrosion protection. Earlier roles included Utstyrsansvarlig and design engineer at National Oilwell Varco, as well as Vitenskapelig Assistent at NTNU, focusing on material technology education. Kjøsnes holds a Master of Science degree in Materialteknologi from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, obtained between 2002 and 2007.
