Ian Wright started their work experience at IBM Corporation in January 2000 as a Technical Sales Specialist. Ian later took on the role of Senior Business Continuity Specialist and Advanced Technical Support from November 2001 to January 2008. During this time, they also worked as an Author for IBM Redbooks, specifically focusing on IBM Systems Storage Business Continuity books. From September to October 2006, they participated in a second residency for IBM Redbooks, where they prepared three publications. Ian then became a Certified Consulting Storage Client Technical Specialist (SE) at IBM Corporation, supporting the sales of IBM Disk Storage Systems and software. Ian specialized in Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity and provided technical sales support for Tivoli Storage Productivity Center. In April 2017, Ian joined Mainline Information Systems as a Sales Engineer.

Ian Wright obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Business Information Systems) from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, where they studied from 1993 to 1999. In terms of additional certifications, they have obtained various certifications from institutions such as Red Hat, Pure Storage, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and IBM. These certifications include the 2023 Red Hat Accelerators Program, the Pure Storage FlashArray Architect Associate certification, the HPE ASE - Storage Solutions V4 certification, the HPE ATP - Hybrid IT Solutions V2 certification, the HPE Product Certified - SimpliVity [2021] certification, the IBM Certified Professional Architect - Cloud v5 certification, the IBM Champion 2022 recognition, the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification, and numerous IBM certifications related to storage systems and cloud solutions.
