Liz Scharnetzki, PhD, currently serves as Faculty Scientist I at the MaineHealth Institute for Research, holding various previous roles including Staff Scientist, Research Coordinator, and Research Associate since June 2019. Prior to this, Liz worked as an Adjunct Lecturer at Johnson State College from July 2016 to May 2022, teaching courses on research methods and statistical techniques in psychology. Liz's academic background includes a PhD in Experimental Psychology with a concentration in Social Psychology from the University of Vermont, where research focused on women's experiences with social identity threat in STEM fields. Additional experiences include roles as Lead Research Analyst for the State of Vermont, Research Technician for the NIH SF BUILD Initiative, and Adjunct Lecturer at various institutions, including Dominican University of California, San Francisco State University, and Berkeley City College. Education credentials include a Master's degree in Psychological Research and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, both from San Francisco State University.
