Huw Thomas has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Huw started their career in 1987 as a Partner at Foster + Partners, where they stayed for 30 years until 2017. During this time, they held various roles and contributed to the company's success. In 2009, Huw Thomas became a Non Executive Director at Olea Limited, serving in this position until 2017. In 2017, they founded Data Dig Ltd, a company focused on providing solutions for housing data in urban areas. Additionally, they joined the UCL Construction Blockchain Consortium as a Steering Committee Member, and served as an Adviser Strategic Partnerships at Future Planet Capital. In 2018, they became the Development Director at Magway Limited. In 2020, Huw Thomas took on the role of Chairperson at Meld Energy and also became a Member at Top Tier Impact.

Huw Thomas has a strong educational background in architecture. Huw completed a Dip Arch degree in Architecture from UCL between 1985 and 1987. Prior to that, they obtained a BA Hons 1st degree in Architecture from London South Bank University, spanning from 1980 to 1983. Additionally, they pursued a Foundation course for Fine Arts at Cheltenham School of Art in 1979-1980.
