Toby Buchanan is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in financial markets and investment management. Currently serving as Senior Legal Counsel at Magnetar Capital since September 2014, Toby manages the transactional aspects of a significant portfolio of solar plant projects valued at over $800 million, utilizing complex investment structures for strategic advantages. Prior to this role, experience included serving as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Citadel Securities from 2004 to 2011, where Toby played a crucial role in the creation of legal frameworks for the rebranded entity and the segregation of investment activities. Earlier career milestones include serving on the Board of Directors for ION Media Networks and working as an Associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell. Toby holds an MBA and JD from Washington University in St. Louis and a BA in Political Science from DePauw University.
