James Tracey is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in audio signal processing and digital signal processing (DSP) across various companies. Currently serving as the Lead Audio Signal Processing Engineer at Magic Leap since May 2022, James focuses on R&D for spatial audio, adaptive beamforming, and noise reduction. Prior experience includes roles as DSP Engineering Manager at Bose Corporation, where James led the development of digital signal processing for consumer electronics, and VP of R&D & IP Strategy at BoomCloud 360, overseeing intellectual property efforts. Notable past positions include Senior Director of Advanced R&D at DTS, Director of R&D at SRS Labs, and Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Bell Laboratories. Academic credentials include a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida and Temple University, respectively.
