Haruki Toyama has a diverse and extensive work experience. Haruki began their career in 1997 as an Equity Research Analyst at MFS Investment Management. From 1999 to 2002, they served as a Managing Director at David L. Babson & Co. In 2002, they joined Madison Investment Advisors as a Vice President, before founding Toyama Capital Management in 2004, where they served as its President, Founder, and Portfolio Manager until 2009. Haruki then co-founded Marcus Asset Management, where they held the position of President, Co-Founder, and Portfolio Manager until 2014. Lastly, they worked at Madison Investments as the Head of Large Cap and Mid Cap Equity, serving as both a Portfolio Manager and Analyst. Additionally, Mr. Toyama has experience outside of the finance industry, having served as a Member of the Board of Directors at the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra since 2010.
Haruki Toyama completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Economics from Brown University from 1989 to 1993. Haruki then pursued a Master of Business Administration degree with distinction from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management from 1995 to 1997.
