Verlon Johnson currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at Acentra Health, a position held since November 2020. Simultaneously, Verlon Johnson holds the roles of MACPAC Chair and MACPAC Commissioner with the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission, which has been active since January 2021. Prior experience includes an Associate Partner/Vice-President role at IBM from December 2018 to November 2020 and a lengthy tenure at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services spanning more than a decade, where Verlon Johnson held various senior positions, including Acting Deputy Director of the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services. Earlier experience also includes leadership roles at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and positions within the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services dating back to 1995. Educational qualifications consist of a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Texas A&M University, a Master of Public Administration in Health Care Administration/Policy from Texas Tech University, and an Executive Scholars Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
