Tom Brainard

Executive Producer, Director at MacGillivray Freeman Films

Before jointing MFF in fall of 2018, Tom had worked in almost every aspect of film, television and advertising for over 25 years. He has worked as Producer and in production on over 30 theatrical films including Ray, Sahara, Holes and Won’t Back Down. Tom has overseen the theatrical and digital marketing strategy of over 70 national campaigns on films like Despicable Me, Hunger Games, Men In Black 3, Brave, Pirates! The Giver and for brands such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Target, Samsung and Sony. Prior to joining the MFF team, Tom led brand and content strategy as Vice President/Producer of the world’s largest public service content provider, The Foundation For A Better Life.

At MFF, Tom serves as Producer or Executive Producer on various projects, including Out Where The West Begins. In fact, his favorite memory while at MFF was hiking down the Grand Canyon to Phantom ranch, carrying antique cameras, costumes and props on our backs, looking like some sort of dystopian renegade gang.
