Lara McClelland currently serves as the Vice President of University Relations at MacEwan University, a position held since May 2023. Prior to this role, McClelland was the Associate Vice President of Integrated Planning and Partnerships at the University of Alberta from January 2019 to May 2023. McClelland's extensive experience in leadership roles includes serving as Executive Director of Strategic Policy, Planning and Indigenous Health for the Government of Alberta (December 2015 - January 2019), Chief Strategy Officer at NAIT (December 2012 - December 2015), and various director-level positions with the Government of Alberta between 2002 and 2012. Earlier career highlights include Health Sciences Coordinator and Associate Director at the University of Alberta (1999 - 2002) and Research Associate in the VP Finance and Services Office at the University of Calgary (1997 - 1999). McClelland holds multiple advanced degrees, including an Executive MBA from Athabasca University and an MSc. in Sports Medicine from the University of Calgary, complemented by executive education credentials from Harvard Business School and Queen's University.
