Roel de Beer

Roel de Beer has a wide range of work experience, spanning various industries and roles. Beginning in 2003, they started their own department, Joint-Vision, which focused on web-based solutions and business communication. Roel then worked as a digital media advisor for the Autoriteit Financiële Markten in 2008. In 2011, Roel became a freelance blogger for DutchCowboys and a business developer and project manager for 2TCI. In 2014, they co-founded Happy Granny, a platform for sending personalized postcards. Roel also worked as a strategy advisor and project manager for Ethernia, a blockchain-based game, from 2018 to 2020. Roel served as a universitair docent (university lecturer) for the Open University of the Netherlands in the field of smart services from 2019. From 2012, Roel worked as a digital strategist and project manager for Kansocial. Roel was a project manager and interim digital transformation consultant at Thinkdata from 2013. Currently, Roel is a project lead for IT at Universiteit Maastricht, overseeing the development and implementation of the YUFE Virtual Campus. Their experience includes collaborating with international teams and stakeholders, driving transformational efforts, and ensuring successful project completion.

Roel de Beer holds a Master's degree in Information & Communication Science from Tilburg University, which they completed from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they obtained an Ing. Engineer degree of ICT in Communication and Multimedia Design from Zuyd Hogeschool | Zuyd University of Applied Sciences between 2003 and 2007. Roel also pursued a course in philosophy of science and debating skills at Utrecht University from 2007 to 2008. Additionally, Roel de Beer has a certification in PRINCE 2 Project Management from the Office of Government Commerce England, obtained in 2011. Furthermore, they have obtained several other certifications, including Professional Product Owner and Scrum Master from Scrum.org in 2022, the IBM Data Science Specialization from Coursera in 2020, and Social Selling with LinkedIn from LinkedIn in 2019.
