Patrick Schoonbrood is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in controlling and auditing. Currently serving as a Senior Controller at Maastricht University since April 2016, Patrick coordinates the Planning & Control cycle for the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences and leads a team of financial professionals while advising the faculty's director and management on financial matters. Prior to this role, Patrick worked at RSM Nederland from January 2008 to March 2016, first as an Opdrachtleider overseeing audit engagements for larger SMEs in Limburg, and previously as an assistant accountant. Patrick holds a Master's degree in International Business: Accounting from Maastricht University, along with a CISA certification from ISACA, a Bachelor's degree in Business from Jönköping University, and completed the UM leadership program Fostering Future Leaders in 2021.
