Dr. Zakaria H. Helles is a highly experienced academic and professional in the field of engineering, currently serving as a Visiting Professor at Université Laval since August 2023, where the focus is on the Concept of Stormwater Artificial Infiltration Basin in the Magdalen Islands. Dr. Helles has a strong background in hydrology research, having supervised graduate students and conducted significant data collection and analysis. As the Head of Engineering at MAAN Development Center and Board Chairman at MegaCapital For Engineering and Consultation since early 2015, Dr. Helles has also held various academic positions at Islamic University - Gaza and Al Azhar University - Gaza, where responsibilities included lecturing and mentoring students. Dr. Helles holds a PhD in Civil and Water Engineering, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering disciplines, contributing to extensive expertise in civil engineering and project management across various organizations, including experience as an Engineering Consultant and a WASH Projects Manager.
